Shinichi's Heart


"Shinichi" was the birth name given to my father in Nagasaki, Japan where he was born right after the end of World War II.  The trauma that impacted my father's "heart" as a mixed roots orphan in Japan is the reason why Shinichi's Heart was created .  We are a social entreprise dedicated to helping usher in new and emerging ways to treat childhood trauma in orphans around the world through journey based VR technology.   Together over a 1-3 year therapy based VR game journey, children will be able to confront their own trauma and ultimately move beyond the pain into a place where they can begin to own and use their story as a vehicle of  healing, self-empowerment and service to others.

Many are still unfamiliar with the term "immersive video game therapy"  but the world is on the tipping of something transformative with immersive game therapy that utilizes technology like VR to treat children living with trauma.

Many of you know by now that VR is being effectively used to treat PTSD in adults as well as to to treat phobias and dementia.  Soon VR will play a key role in helping to transform the way children living with trauma are treated.

 A.I. supports us with the progress of patients undergoing treatment with trauma.   A.I. will help support critical decision making situations within the VR journey.  A.I. will perform important duties such as recognizing avoidance patterns and pinpointing delicate areas that will help children to gradual confront, work through and move beyond their individual trauma.

As technology and creativity advance so will the possibilities of using video games to treat trauma.  Companies like Flying Mollusk have created Nevermind, a horror game that utilizes biofeedback technology to create a more immersive experience.  While the game Nevermind itself it not suitable for therapy based treatment its technology is a perfect example of how games will be created to assist in therapy based treatment utilizing biofeedback technology as part of assessing a patient`s mental/emotional state while immersed within a virtual reality game.

The third film in The Sound of Little Feet trilogy, Keys will focus entirely on childhood trauma and those working on transformative solutions using video games, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and emerging technologies like biofeedback.  Keys will give a glimpse into how we interact, support and empower children and all people in the near future when treating trauma.
